The custom brand typeface is designed as a powerful communication tool to match Norlys’ multiple activities within the energy and telecommunication co-operative. 

The characteristic typeface is driven by an innovative and sympathetic mindset and shaped by the interplay between the organic and the angular forms. The typeface is a key asset in Norlys corporate visual identity and creates visual consistency on all platforms.

A full range type family

The Norlys type family includes weight and styles to cover all typographic needs across all brand platforms.

Norlys Headline (2 weights) is designed to carry the Norlys brand values and to strengthen brand recognition.

Norlys Text (3 weights + italics)is the steady workhorse where readability, legibility and space economy is essential for succesfull implementation.

Recognisable details

The lowercase “g” plays a significant role in the custom typeface. The drop shaped ear is floating effortless above the main shape, sharing the unique detail with other members of the family, such as “r, s and a”.

The characteristic tail of the “g” pay homage to the legacy of the “Danish g” and will become very recognisable. The open form has two main advantages: visually it makes the Norlys brand stand out; and practically it minimise vertical space consumption, adding a certain flexibility to the overall use.
